Leroux: Any Serious Sam experts in here? As someone who's never played any of the games in the series, I must say the number of installments available and their naming is quite confusing.
SERIOUS SAM’S BOGUS DETOUR CODE
I do understand the potential benefits for the developer of having access to the multiplayer API in Galaxy, but surely in this case they already have their own multiplayer code from previous games that could have been adapted to this game? Instead there's now the Galaxy API version and Steam API version for the online code. If a separate program is required to be installed and running in order to play certain sections of a game, then the game loses one of the main selling points of being on GOG (DRM free). Sorry for the mostly-negative post, but the Galaxy requirement is becoming more and more common. No Galaxy required, and cross-play worked without a hitch.Īt least this makes my decision easy will not wishlist/purchase or recommend to friends. The rest were GOG copies I gifted around. The developer's other game Hammerwatch certainly was, and worked great playing with my friends, some of whom had their copies on Steam. Multiplayer Notice: Please note that the GOG Galaxy Client is required to access Multiplayer A shame, since the co-op sounded fun. You can just play the HD versions they are almost completely the same and just look better. Would recommend picking up TFE and TSE as those are the best ones. SS2 is a sequel to the Xbox version of Serious Sam which combined SS TFE and TSE into one game.
SERIOUS SAM’S BOGUS DETOUR SERIES
What are the differences, which games did you think were the best and which ones should I stay clear off? Are they all just arena / arcade / wave based shooters without much story to it? Do some have more varied gameplay, opponents and settings than others? It seems most players prefer the classic non-HD first game, and the HDs and Serious Sam 2 aren't that well liked - why is that (disregarding any issues related to DRM)? Series order: Serious Sam First and Second Encounter, First and Second Encounter HD, Classics: Revolution, Serious Sam 2, Serious Sam BFG, and then all those indie titles.
